The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Secretary for International Relations, Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah, has successfully organized a seven-day educational and fun trip to Dubai, bringing together Ghanaian students for a unique experience combining education, cultural exposure, networking and recreation.

The seven-day initiative, held in Dubai in 2026, provided participating students with an opportunity to explore one of the world’s most rapidly developing cities while gaining practical insights into its educational, economic, technological and tourism sectors.

Under the leadership of Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah, the trip was designed not merely as a recreational tour but as an educational experience aimed at broadening the horizons of Ghanaian students beyond the classroom. Participants had the opportunity to experience Dubai’s renowned infrastructure, modern development, cultural heritage and business environment.

The programme also created opportunities for participants to interact, build relationships and exchange ideas, reinforcing the importance of international exposure in preparing young people for an increasingly interconnected world.

Speaking on the initiative, the organizers emphasized the need for Ghanaian students to be exposed to global best practices and environments that can inspire them to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The successful organization of the trip further highlights Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah’s commitment to using his mandate as NUGS Secretary for International Relations to create opportunities that connect Ghanaian students to the international community.

Beyond the educational component, the seven-day trip offered participants memorable recreational experiences, allowing students to unwind, explore Dubai and strengthen friendships in an atmosphere of learning and cultural exchange.

The initiative has consequently been described as an innovative approach to student leadership, demonstrating how international relations within student governance can translate into practical opportunities and experiences for students.

As NUGS continues to promote the interests and welfare of Ghanaian students at home and abroad, initiatives such as the Dubai educational fun trip provide a model for student leadership that combines education, international exposure, networking and recreation.

The success of the 2026 Dubai trip is therefore expected to inspire similar initiatives that will give more Ghanaian students opportunities to experience the world, learn from global developments and return home with ideas capable of contributing to Ghana’s progress.
