A U.S. court has approved the release of Mona Faiz Montrage’s passport, allowing for her deportation to Ghana after she completes her prison sentence.

Montrage, widely known as Hajia 4Reall, is currently serving a 12-month sentence at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia for her role in a fraudulent scheme.

She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to receive stolen money as part of the operation.

Her legal team, Fast Law, submitted a request on November 1, 2024, seeking the return of her passport to initiate self-deportation proceedings. Court records indicate that the prosecution did not oppose the motion.

US District Judge J. Paul Oetken approved the request, instructing that the passport be handed over to her legal representatives.

Background

Hajia 4Reall was sentenced on June 28, 2024, after confessing to her involvement in a fraud scheme that targeted individuals and businesses in the U.S. between 2013 and 2019.

In addition to her prison term, the 32-year-old influencer was ordered to forfeit $216,475 and pay restitution of $1,387,458. Following her sentence, she will also serve three years of supervised release.

This court ruling clears the way for Hajia 4Reall’s return to Ghana after her prison sentence is served.
