MobileMoney Fintech LTD has placed several MoMo Agent accounts under temporary restrictions following routine security and compliance checks on its Mobile Money (MoMo) Agent platform.
The company said the measures form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen platform security, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect the integrity of Ghana’s fast-growing digital financial ecosystem.
According to a statement from the company, agents found with infractions are being treated based on the severity of their breaches. Agents with minor infractions will receive formal warnings, those with moderate breaches face account suspension, while agents involved in serious violations risk permanent termination of their accounts.
“MobileMoney Fintech LTD has engaged affected agents and, where appropriate, lifted restrictions on accounts while investigations continue,” the company said.
The restrictions are designed to safeguard customers, protect the MoMo Agents platform, and sustain confidence across the agent network. The company has urged all agents to strictly adhere to approved operational guidelines and regulatory requirements.
