In a a bid to lighten the burden of traders and help increase their capital, PIWAk Natural Health has donated a whopping amount of Three Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS300,000) to support their activities.

The donation, according to PIWAk Natural Health, forms part of its efforts to support the less privileged and all manner of marginalized individuals in society.

Dr. Prince Nelson Mototi, Chief Executive Officer of PIWAk Natural Health, stated during the presentation on Friday, October 10, 2025, that traders play a critical role in nurturing society and therefore deserve support.

“There is a woman I know of, who sells cassava dough commercially, and through this small business, she has been able to put up a two-storey building and also financed her children’s education up to the tertiary institution,” he said.

Dr Mototi added that though some traders are thriving, there is a need to support others to ensure sustainability in business.

“As others are thriving well in their small businesses, some are facing challenges and having difficulties in making their businesses grow and failing to bring productivity.

These challenges are due to debt, lack of entrepreneurial skills, and scarcity of affordable trading spaces, health issues, single parenting and etcetera.

I know the sacrifices market women make for their children, relatives, and those depending on them who are not even related, waking up at midnight to their various marketplaces and coming home very late at night every single day,” he stressed.

Dr. Mototi was of the firm belief that “although we can’t stop these struggles, Piwak is here to give a little push to our beneficiaries who need the token to revive their businesses. There is a quote that states:

“Little drops of water make a mighty ocean”. Let this token be a stepping stone to greatness and yield productivity.

Dr. Mototi further indicated the need for financial prudence in maximizing returns.

“I did not come here to just give donations but also came along with the branch manager Mr. Musa Haruna of National Investment Bank-Madina to support the program by giving our market heroes the education on how to save and manage their finances,” he stressed

Adding that “Piwak Natural Health will continue to support and revive our market heroes. Although this token is small, it should not be taken for granted. But with hope and trust, I believe you will maximize it with profit and bring hope to our communities.”

On her part, Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Eliklim Agurugu admonished the traders to put the funds to judicious use.

“We want to see you invest the funds to get the need returns and increase your activities. Government will roll out the women’s Development Bank soon to support traders, but in the meantime, I call on other philanthropists to emulate PIWAk’s gesture,” she intimated

In all, each of the Three Hundred traders received a one thousand Ghana Cedis non-refundable cash to support their operations in the first phase
