A tipper truck with registration number GE 6095-21 crashed into a cargo truck at Buduburam Big Apple in the Gomoa East District, leaving five people in critical condition.
The accident occurred around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
According to reports, the tipper truck, which was traveling from Kasoa towards Winneba, rammed into the cargo truck (GW 7691-Y), which was stationary in traffic at Big Apple.
Witnesses say the tipper truck driver was speeding and appeared to be dozing off before the crash.
The impact left the tipper truck driver and two of his mates trapped inside the vehicle.
They were later rescued and rushed to St. Gregory Hospital in Buduburam for treatment.
An eyewitness, Emmanuel Kubi confirmed that the cargo truck had only the driver and his mate on board at the time of the accident.
Both sustained injuries and were also taken to St. Gregory Hospital with the assistance of bystanders.
