The close associates of the administration of President John Mahama are currently in a meeting over an impending power crisis in the country.

The meeting arose following a notice from the managers of the West Africa Gas Company of a planned maintenance.

The maintenance, according to WAPCO was supposed to be carried out in October 2024 but was suspended at the request of the Ministry of Energy.

According to GRIDCO, there’s the need for a supply of liquid fuel which is currently in short supply to power the power plants in Tema which will be shut during the maintenance period.

According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Government Spokesperson, they have put in place a committee to study the problem and present a road map to dealing with the crisis.

The committee will present it’s report to the government by the close of the day for President Mahama to act on it.
