Manchester United would be interested in a summer deal for Cole Palmer. The Independent journalist, Miguel Delaney, has revealed in his Reading the Game newsletter that if there are any suggestions that Palmer could leave Chelsea, then Premier League rivals Man Utd would pounce.

“Manchester United would be perfectly willing to make Cole Palmer a target if there was any hint of a move, but they’re aware that’s virtually impossible. Hence the advance on Matheus Cunha at Wolves,” Delaney wrote on Friday.

“United will definitely sign a midfielder and forward… should other trading allow, not to mention Champions League qualification.

“The Old Trafford hierarchy have a bigger list if they do win the Europa League.”

Palmer joined Chelsea from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer of 2023. The England international attacking midfielder has scored 14 goals and given nine assists in 39 appearances for the Blues this season and scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists in 48 matches for the London club in the 2023-24 campaign
